About Us
The Association of Small Medium Enterprises (ASME) is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1986 for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs. With wide-ranging services and programmes, ASME strives to equip member SMEs with the business knowledge and market opportunities to help them grow their businesses.
ASME, as the champion of a pro-enterprise Singapore, bridges the public and the private sectors to promote a more conducive business environment which facilitates the start-up, growth and development of a larger pool of SMEs. The two ASME flagship awards — The Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Singapore Prestige Brand Award are in recognition of SMEs’ successes.
ASME will continue to roll out new SME-relevant programmes to enhance its position as THE business association For Entrepreneurs, By Entrepreneurs.
NS Mark (Gold)
ASME is a recipient of the NS Mark (Gold), a national-level accreditation scheme that recognises businesses and organisations with policies and human resource practices that support National Service and Total Defence.
Advisory Board
The Association of Small Medium Enterprises (ASME) Advisory Board provides strategic guidance and a thoughtful sounding board for ASME’s Executive Council. The ASME Advisory Board is to help ensure that ASME remains true to its mission, retains institutional memory and relationships.

The International Relations Department aims to facilitate the growth and development of SMEs through internationalisation. We create overseas business opportunities for members by assisting them in building up overseas networks and contact through trade missions, exhibitions and hosting of overseas delegates. We work closely with government agencies to assist the growth of SMEs and share various assistance schemes available with these SMEs.
With the support of LEAD IFM (International Fairs Missions), administered by Enterprise Singapore, we lead Singapore delegation under the Singapore Pavilion, showcasing products, services and technologies that Singapore SMEs can offer via the exhibitions platform, across different industries, different market.

The Event Services department is responsible for organising events together with our partners in the private and government sectors, as we seek to connect businesses to form a vibrant network of like-minded business professionals and entrepreneurs.
Events are organised monthly based on various themes and topics on current business issues to stimulate a positive flow of feedback and information exchange. These events are held also for the purpose of equipping SMEs with the appropriate tools they need to succeed and deal with potential business challenges. ASME’s annual flagship events include Entrepreneurs’ Digest Post Budget Convention, SAF Day Rededication Ceremony, ASME Business Symposium, Inter-Association Networking Night, etc.

The Corporate Communications department coordinates all of ASME’s communications activities to key audiences, including members, employees, government bodies, the media and other stakeholders.
The department crafts all internal and external communications materials in support of the Association’s efforts in creating a pro-enterprise environment in Singapore through media relations, marketing communications, and brand development and management.
The team also manages ASME’s social media channels and digital platforms to reach out and connect with the local SME community and beyond.

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for SME Professionals facilitates the re-skilling of mid-career individuals to take on new roles in SMEs. The 3-months On-the-job (OJT) training programme aims to aid new hires to better acclimatise to an SME environment and acquire the necessary foundational skills.

FRACTIONAL LEADERS PROGRAMME
ASME is piloting an initiative – Fractional Talent designed to address critical workforce challenges faced by Singapore’s SMEs amidst global economic uncertainty, technological disruption upkeeping of skilled workforce which affected business continuity such as Talent Retention, Leadership Transitions, & Knowledge Transfer.

Why AI for SMEs, Why Now

SMEs are 99% of enterprises, but micro and small firms alone make up about 94% of all enterprises and about 45% of the national workforce.

AI adoption is lagging in SMEs due to affordability, complexity, and uncertainty, not willingness.

National focus today is heavy on “AI bilingualists” (labour supply), but SME AI adoption (labour demand) is still structurally weak.
About the AI Action Group
Who we are: ASME committee that focuses on AI, digitalisation, and cybersecurity for Singapore’s SMEs.

Chongqing Strategic Business Mission: A high-level delegation to meet with provincial leaders and formulate MOUs that facilitate a “gateway to the Western Front” of China.

WIPO Partnership Intellectual Property: A strategic collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to provide members with a global perspective on IP assets. This includes upcoming workshops and an official MOU signing to level up local engagement with international standards.

Global Alliance MOUs: The active formalisation of partnerships with international bodies, including agreements with the European Union (EU) and regional counterparts like SME Johor, to reduce barriers to entry for Singaporean businesses.

- Sustainability Roadmaps: Providing a structured, end-to-end sustainability pathway designed specifically to help SMEs start, scale, and formalise their sustainability journey in a practical and cost-effective way.
